Zeebya....God, the scenario you just described actually DID happen in America.
Read up on the "FDR Years", with over 250,000 Ameican Citizens in Prison Camps. The 1940 Smith Act, which gave him unlimited power to "Take out" Political Opposition an Imprison them.
Government work camps like the TVA ect... You get my point.....

Because, believe it or not, the Feds are too busy building their own concentration camps right here, for "suspected terrorists" which translates into anyone, especially Americans, that they feel disagrees with the current fascist government policies. There is a movement afoot now, in certain government enclaves, to pass a law forcing all internet bloggers who put up posts critical of the current government, to register with the government on a quarterly basis, the same as lobbyists, under the guise that they are "suspected terrorists or potential threats."
Remember, habeas corpus has been thrown aside in the Bush government. Bush was recently quoted, during a closed-door meeting at The White House, as saying that The Constitution was nothing but "a Goddamned piece of paper" after bieng told one of his policies was potentially unconstitutional.
So, as far as I'm concerned, considering the atrocities commited and the loss of civil liberties under The Patriot Act, and the rush to destroy forensic evidence of the 9/11 disaster, that this government is just as dangerous as the "terrorists" they keep trying to scare us with.

it's because W needs more terrorist to attack the U.S. before the next president takes over.
Otherwise Bush will get investigated and that would be bad.
Bush has to stop any investigation where he can't claim "executive privliage".
