My baby was able to follow objects by the second week but I think that it's normal. Give her something really big to look at am make sure it's not too close to her face. Remember, they don't even see colors yet, mostly shadows so make sure that what you are giving her to look at isn't a muted color like pastels. It should be dark so she can focus better.

By a month they should be able to see and focus on objects 8 to 15 inches from them however keep in mind these are just general guidelines, every baby develops at their own rate. If you are really concerned just ask your doctor they will be able to alleviate your fears.

By two months most infants will follow an object from one side to the other. Try wiggling your fingers in an arc about two feet from the baby's eyes.

Consistent eye contact develops about the same time.

It depends on how close you are to the baby. If you are cradling them, they can see about 6 inches in front of their face. For sure by 2 months the baby will be following you with their eyes at longer distances.

My babies could follow something from the time they were born. I remember holding up a red box, got their attention and slowly moved it across the sky, they (4) all followed it. As far
as focusing, that does take a while, maybe a month.
