My fiance & I have been getting along well lately after some rough spots. I just text messeged him "You make me happy and I love you". He responded right away with one word. "Ditto"
What the hell? Is he being a smartass or is that an acceptable response from a man? Lol, maybe I'm reading too much into this....

Your reading far too much into the remark "ditto." It simply means "back at you" or "I agree, which has been a perfectly exceptable answer for a long time to many different remarks. So why are you rhinking poorly of it? He could have been busy or looking for a quicker way to reply to you via texting. Maybe he made the mistake of thinking that you would take it as cute or the way that it was intended. Either way he was simply stating that he loves you and that you made him happy too. Be glad of it.

Ditto means he's replying back to you that he loves you and that you make him happy too...It's from the movie, Ghost...Ditto Is a short way of saying the same thing in return..You are just reading to much into it....

You are reading way too much into it. Maybe he is busy and didn't have time to type out a full message but ditto means he feels the exact same thing about you that you just said to him.

I think that's acceptable. Maybe he was just busy (possibly driving???) and didn't have the time for a longer response but wanted you to know how he feels. As long as he doesn't say it when you tell him you love him in person, there's probably nothing to worry about.

Ditto means same here... I don't understand what your problem is. He loves you and and you make him happy, just in not so many words.
