What kind of jobs might a recently graduated history major be looking at? Just wondering, I am only a junior, but I like history. Hows the job market?

The number one job for a person with a BA is history, is a history teacher at the Jr. high or high school level. However, at the high school level almost all of the history teachers these days are also coaches (unless they fit into a minority group, somehow), so you'd better know something about sports and coaching if you go that route. Most other jobs in history, archivist, corporate historian, park ranger, etc. need a master's degree in history.

I myself am back in college after almost 20 years. I completed my first semester last spring. I plan on trying to a get a job as an archivist. I have also considered working for the State Department. These jobs are within the realm of History degrees. If you think archival work would be interesting, then see if the school you go to has a course in library work. Usually, it has an internship and should help in that area.

Newspaper and other media outlets. Someone has to makeup the stories we read and see.

Besides a teacher/professor, you could work for a museum in various positions that research certain pieces history and authenticity. As well, you could get a master's in law.

Education: K-12 teacher

Otherwise, you'll need to pursue graduate and doctoral studies to find something to do related to history. Or you can go on and study law, if that interests you.
