After watching the Lions pass for almost 500 yards last night even though its preseason im pretty high on Kitna as my back up to Palmer...also week 1 should i start Kitna against the raiders instead of Palmer against the Ravens.... Also do you think Evans will be good enough to be a number 1 fantasy receiver?

If you've got Palmer as your starter, then you're in good shape. Kitna is a decent backup (just like in real life), but he's not a guy you want leading your fantasy team (again, just like in real life). He has a history of showing flashes of brilliance, followed by bad decisions and plenty of fumbles due to having small hands.

Lee Evans isn't going to catch 100 balls, but he'll get plenty of receptions and many of them should be of the longer variety. I'm not sure if he's quite a WR1 to this point, but he's a high #2 guy.

Kitna will have alot of touchdowns but probably alot of interceptions. He would be a good back up. Start Palmer week one, he plays good against the ravens. Lee Evans is pretty good and will have a good year but he's going to get double teamed alot because of there weak running game. Evans is probably the fifth or sixth best reciever in the league.

Kitna will be great... if he stops throwing so many interceptions. Interceptions KILLED him last year. Truth is that the Lions' offensive line is not much better than it was last year. Kitna gets beat up a lot as a result, resulting in fumbles and interceptions going up. I don't see any reason why that will change.

BUT... with Calvin Johnson, Roy Williams, AND Mike Furrey to throw to and a crappy running game, he will get a LOT of yards. As a backup, he rocks, especially if they pull off more touchdowns than last year. But have you drafted yet? In most leagues you won't get Kitna AND Palmer. Kitna tends to be drafted as the starter by the 8th or 9th team picking. If you do get them both, then you've got as solid a QB duo as most people will have.

Evans will be a solid receiver. I would not want him as my #1, but in most of the public leagues, if your running backs and QB are great, then you'll get by with Evans so long as your #2 and #3 are good, too. It would help if Losman has a big year, but I would not bet on it. He'll be adequate, and that will hurt Evans' standing as a #1. He'll still be good, though.

And I tend to play my best player, regardless of who they play against. The best players will have big games against anyone... even the Ravens.

I think Kitna may be a top 3 QB in the league this year with that pass-heavy offense (depending on how your league is set up and what stat categories, etc). He threw for 4208 yds last year, and that was WITHOUT Calvin Johnson. Even as a rookie, that kid should be a top tier fantasy WR.

As for who you should start, the Ravens have a great D, so it may be a better option to start Kitna over Palmer.

As for Evans, his numbers last year were great, and I can only see him getting better. It depends on who your other WR's are, but I think Evans is definitely number one material.

im in the same boat as you, i have kitna as a backup, but to brady, and i think he will do even better this year than last year, with a healthier line and calvin johnson, and i also have lee evans and im starting him over driver, i think you should go with palmer still just because hes carson palmer and raiders pass defense actually isnt that bad

it will be hard for kitna not to have a bad year, he has two great receivers to throw to and mike furrey makes a decent third target, if he doesn't throw too many interceptions he will have a good year, lee evans is a good receiver and is a big deep threat, he is the number 1 receiver on the bills and should put up big numbers

Emphasis on the word BACKUP. He'll do ok in the pre-season, but, he's in DETROIT. GOOD GOD.. I just don't think Kitna is going to do much. yes, I'd start him against the Raiders IF ITS AT HOME. If its at Alameda, its a coin flip.

Evans is a hot/cold reciever. he might catch 3 tds one week and not see a pass the next. No, he's not good enough for a no. 1.. definitely no 2 if he's on fire

i like your team, the only down concern is that smith will pass over a pair common video games yet you obtain stable back ups. i think of Curtis will do stable this season he is going to be a significant weapon this one year.
