That is a very tough question and among my colleagues a subject of heated debate.

I strongly favor the Cottle version which has no contribution from Graham and is approved by Dodd. I say this because, for most students, Cottle is more recent and therefore useful.

On the other hand, it clearly is not any of the early versions either.

If you have managerial accounting in your background, go ahead and pick up any of the older versions. If you do not, pick up the newer version which is technically more difficult and more current.
