Why are you a Democrat? ( Our liberal )?

This question is only for liberals. I've never really undersood why libs are libs so all you liberals please tell me.

The fiscal liberals are kind-hearted, but naive people who think the poor just needs a bit of help to lift them out of poverty. But the more help they give, the more people are in poverty. they just make the saftey net too comfy.

They think by raising the minimum wage, everyones standard of living will increase. They don't realize this will just make it so employers either have to raise prices, cut the hours he gives people or slow down the pay raise scale. Or a combination of the three.

They think if something must be done, we need the government to do it, not realizing how inefficient the government is. When possible, it is best to leave as much as possible in the hands of charities & privite enterprize.

I am somewhat of a "social liberal" I think the government should mind it's own business as much as possible. As disgusting as prostitution is, illegalizing it only results in it gowing underground where child prostitution, sex slavery and unsanitary conditions flourish. Just because something is wrong, that doesn't mean it should be illegal.
