Oh, the heck with it. What I was doing was going to Webster's Instant Word Guide and copying everything that was not obviously inappropriate for children. But frankly, we probably have such different ideas about what is appropriate for children that I think you'd better do it yourself. Just go to the dictionary, or a spelling dictionary like the one I mentioned, and copy them out.
