So i worked for a company for 10 years and 1 year ago i was in a car accident. I hurt my right shoulder, neck, and arm.I also had a slight concushion. I tried to work but couldnt. To much pain. So my doctor put me out. SO i took a medical leave of absence which is 3 months at my work. Then when that expired I took a personal leave which I thought was a year but is only 6 months. The entire time I'm out I going to mri's, pt and doctors appointments. Getting injections etc etc. So I go to return to work 7 months after the accident. The weekend before I'm in another accident.Oh both not my fault.Honestly.This one would be worst than the last.So I have a bulge in my neck and a hurnation in my low back and pain down right leg.can barely stand.
So now.I have been out of work for 1 year and my work has termed me.They say I can come back but with a lower rate of pay.Kinda sucks since I was in accidents and didnt leave on my own.The questions is can they do this even know I have Dr's notes???

I do have a lawyer for the accidents but havent told him about the work situation yet.I wanted to try and solve it myself. Then if worse comes to worse.

I'm thinking not but they also have great lawyers that they pay mega dollars to and they probably do not think that you will pursue it since you do not at present have an income. Have you contacted an attorney yet for the two accidents? You can sue the drivers of the other vehicles for personal damages other than just to the car and your body. You can sue for pain and suffering and for time off from work and that attorney can also give you the truth on this company that just fired you. If you cannot afford an attorney up front, there are lots of them that specialize in accident claims that also give you free service up front and take a persentage of what you get on the claim once you setting the suit. I know this I am currently working with one of those kind myself. I was hit broadside and my van was rolled three times over last August. I am still not working and still in physical therapy and going to the pain clinic and the man that hit me never got a scratch on him or went to the doctor at all. I suggest that since you have been involved in two that were not your fault and have police reports that prove that, you contact an attorney. It's time something went on the positive side of your situation and they can help make that happen.

I can totally understand what you are going through. My mother in law had the same problem after an injury she recieved from work she was terminated. She had all the doctor excuses. Of all places my mother in law worked at the hospital. This was 4 years ago. she went through lawyers because of workmens comp. The hospital said she had this injury before. she did not. Finally she was able to work at the hospital again but not as a nurse. for a different job with less pay. One thing she learned was you are replaceable. It is not against the law to terminate after 1 year. I was laid off from a basket company and if they couldn't call me back after 1 year I was terminated. which I was. just hold you head up high and keep looking. GOd closes one door and opens another.

My sympathies, really sorry, the problem is that when you're injured not everybody can understand how you're feeling. I had a very serious injure in university, some teachers asked me why I didn't visit lectures with it. Some girls even said that I wear that thing on my arm just to make teachers feel pity for me and to ask for better marks. Some people can be cruel and wicked. Don't give up. You'll recover and get a beter job then the one you had. Good luck.
