Hmmmmm....... if it was to be for your own good, I'm thinking that there were surely other ways to go about it. And that would mean coming to you to talk about it rather than anything that would happen behind your back. Anything for our own good is done with our knowledge even if it is not always done with out consent.

I would have to question the motives of this person and find out why they couldn't have gone about this differently. I'm afraid it would make me wonder if they were really my friend. :(

Depends on situations my dear. There are many faces, with different characters and different reasons / opinions. To me, I will still be in doubt for whatever reasons that "friend" gave after giving me that stab. A stab is for the back, other stabs maybe for elsewhere with other reasons.

Conclusion after lesson learnt is "It's Better To Be Safe Than Sorry".

It seems like if they were a true friend, they would have told you what they were planning. Or at least give some kind of warning.

Unless their plan was dependent on you being unaware. But what kind of plan would require such treachery and how would you benefit from it?
