monthly odd smells right before period...?

about a week before my period, my coochie smells funny...it kind of smells like really strong raw meat, not fishy (thats the best i can describe it). is this normal? its annoying because i am embarrassed to have sex with my fiance. what could this be and how can i subdue the smell? i only douche right after my period and I know it's not a yeast infection becasue it is gone after my period is through. it happens every month about the same time. MATURE answers only please. thank you!

This sounds like an infection called Bacterial Vaginosis. I would recommend seeing your doctor for further evaluation to see what they think is going on.
