Okay, so a little background, and then I'll describe what my computer is doing. I have a pop-up blocker, and I've had it for a long time. I have NEVER had a problem with it, and I've had it for as long as I've had the computer (almost four years, to the day).
All of a sudden, yesterday morning, I started getting pop-ups, and they're always from the same places. Every time I open Yahoo Messenger, or any web page, I get pop-ups. I've gone into my internet options to see if the pop-up blocker is still turned on, and it is.
I've done virus scans and scans for worms, and it keeps coming up with more Trojan viruses; I heal them, do another scan, and they come back. I don't know what to do. My computer is barely functioning. What else can I do?
Oh, and the virus protection I have is AVG. Do I need to maybe get a firewall up? Or something? I'm completely clueless when it comes to this stuff. Will add details if needs be.

Well, maybe you have spyware or a hardcore trojan.

Try the following:
a) go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ which is a free online virus scanner and do a full scan of your PC. It might be your virusscanner is corrupted.

b) go to http://www.hitmanpro.nl and download hitman. Hitman is an automated control program that updates and runs multiple antispyware programs automatically

If that doesn't help drop me a line.
