It is pointless for one to continue living in a constant state of worry and unease about the future. Increasing one's knowledge and utilizing it in life will make one more optimistic about the future. When misfortune hits (and it will), one must learn to deal with it in a positive manner and not let such misfortune get the best of him or her.

One solves that question by getting up in the morning, doing something to get food on the table for self and the family 3x a day, keeping a roof over one's head, paying all the bills and with luck, still have time for a beer at the end of the day.
Only people who have too much free time can afford to have an existential crisis.

By giving/finding purpose for your own life. The main construct of existentialism is the belief that there is no Truth to be found. That the truth you seek in life is different from the truth I seek. Existentialism is the absence of a higher purpose. There is no fate or destiny, except the fate you give yourself.
Existentialism is a school of thought not just in philosophy but in psychology. In psychology existentialism is usually paired with humaniterianism. A humanist, does all they can to aid their clien/patient to reach their full potential, but an exsitential therapist forces their clients to realize that if they wish change in their life then they must be the change.
There for if you are suffering an existential crisis, merely change your perspective. . . you are only lost and alone if you perceive yourself that way. Pick yourself up and seek your own Truth, you own Purpose.

If we overly identify with the 'programmed' ego's fear of existential death (what it conceives of as worse than physical death - i.e. abandonment, humiliation, aloneness, confinement etc. etc.) we are in a constant existential crisis. That's how we develop all our ridiculous ego defensiveness that separates us from 'full aliveness.'
Feel the feelings but remember you are NOT these thoughts and feelings, but the OBSERVER of them. They are illusion no matter how permanent and real they feel. They have to be given your full rational attention to overcome them (changing your mind) or they will destroy all chance for happiness.

After some years of thinking approximately life and failing to make any experience of it, i'm now content textile to snuggle deep interior the fur and basically get on with existence the excellent way i can. according to probability this can be the answer on your disaster too?

step aside and watch with absesnce of judgment....Crisis is a creation and if you withdraw yourself from a swollen picture, structure of a crisis will not have a support of a cause, thus, collapse...easier to understand than practice, but have a courage.

"Doctor, doctor it hurts when I stare into the void."
"So, don't stare into to void"
Religion is the natural evolutionary defense against the void.
But if you want the God lite version it goes like this.
1) If your life is pointless, than depression over the pointlessness of your life is also pointless, so you might as well enjoy yourself.
2.) You may be insignificant to the universe, but you should be significant to yourself.
3) Life is a game. Play it or don't.
No one can stop you from quitting early.
But it is irrational to half play while whining how hard or pointless it is.

First I would define what existential means and then I would try to spell it. Maybe not in that order.
I would think in simpler terms.
Simple solutions to simple problems.
