They just said we can't leave Iraq because it would cause the country to collapse to an unfriendly government and the enite region would domino into a hostile enemy. Isn't that the same argument LBJ used to stay so long in Vietnam, and none of it came true? Do you think this is is a fair comparison?

Actually, we had Vietnam won just before we surrendered.

Had we stayed in Vietnam long enough to allow a new government get established, we would have transplanted freedom there.

So yes, Iraq is like Vietnam, we are winning, a new government has been established, and time is needed to work out the bugs.

Time will tell whether Iraq will be either another Vietnam, or another Germany. Following the conquest of Germany in 1944, we occupied the country long enough to allow a freedom loving government get established. We still have a presence in Germany, and the government is peaceful and independent.

Iraq can be another Germany. It doesn't have to end like Vietnam.

i'm no longer very prepared on John McCain politically, yet being shot down, crashing your airplane, injuring your self in the crash and then being dragged out/captured by using the Vietnamese isn't precisely "surrendering". i assume which you would be so brave as to take some time to punch your armed captors whilst being in extreme soreness? did no longer think of so. What are we arguing? If we are arguing McCain's status in the Vietnam warfare, then you definately've lost an prolonged time in the past. "Captured/resign you nonetheless advance your hands up.that's the comparable. You supply up." No, it isn't the comparable. "i became into IN IRAQ 1YEAR AS A SOLDIER!" i don't have self assurance you and that i do no longer think of that a single, mentally functioning guy or woman on YA believes you. with the aid of fact in case you have been a soldier, you will comprehend the style. and you will comprehend to do your study till now making silly comments like that. "particular wealthy little ones get to bomb from some distance away. How brave!!!!!...even though it somewhat is needed i admit." What does someone's monetary status would desire to do with what activity in the militia they get? i comprehend what is going into this from backside up and that they do no longer seem at whether you're a "wealthy boy" or no longer while they seem at whether you're qualified for the activity or no longer. you should end posting on your individual sake, because you're making your self appear like an fool in front of each guy or woman who reads your question.

No, it sounds more like the problem that the USSR had with the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. They put up such a good fight that they nearly bankrupted the USSR and they had to pull out before the whole country went down due to financial collapse.

It sounds like the ravings of a mad man! He has to be insane to believe the public is going to accept anything he has to say about anything! The man has zero, absolutely no credibility what so ever. He has practiced distraction, deception, and deceit for far too long to possibly tell the American public a single word and honestly know it will be taken as gospel! George give it up, and be a man for once in your miserable life,so the public doesn't have to go down that expensive impeachment road!

Nope like pilgrim said Vietnam and Iraq can/could both be won. Terrorists in Iraq know that Americans are weak and will want to pull out of a war if all operations aren't complete in a few years.
