Be simple and to the point.

something like: Listen. I need some space right now. It's not you, it's everyone. I feel claustrophobic and need some time alone.

I'll give you a call in a couple of days, okay?

then let her know you are fine and it's nothing to worry about just need some space. Then do call her in a few days let her know you are okay, but you still need some space and you will call her again in a few days.

If she calls you - tell her you meant what you said and you need space. tell her to please respect that and not call again.

If she still calls again, then you need to not answer when she calls, and walk away when you see her. If it gets to that point then you need to tell her off. Tell her she is not respecting your space.

I hope it doesn't come to that.

Rely on the wonder that is caller ID...if you see that it's her, pick up and say "Listen ::insert name here:: I really enjoy spending time with you, but I think I need some time to myself. I had a long day at work, and I just feel like vegging out in front of the TV." This way, it doesn't make it seem like she's the problem.

Also, you should slip in the whole 'showing up at my job all the time' issue. After you tell her that you had a long day at work and you can't hang out, you should say something like "And speaking of work, it's been so crazy there and I've been so busy that, even though I love having you visit me, your presence is somewhat distracting, and I really can't get any work done. Is it all right if you stop coming by for a little while? I just really need to keep up with my work."

she's your best friend right? So just let her know, nicely though, that you want some time alone for a little while. She should respect that and let you be for a while, and when you're ready to hang out she will most likely be ready then as well.

it sorta sounds like she looks up to you. but that shouldn't conflict with you life. you could just say that you need some alone time. then if she looks a little sad you could just say because we've been hanging out a lot and i just want to chill by myself right now.

tell her that u need time alone, say it slowly and don't make she hurt.If u can't tell her what ur problem right now, just tell her. if she is a good friend, she will understand it..trust me.And when u're ready to go out, tell her.she will so happy hear u come back..

I have been on the receiving end of that so imnot saying this is the case but you may want to consider if she is just extremely lonely.

Just tell her how you feel and tell her that you think that she is to clingy. Tell her that you want your space and that you think that she should leave you alone and just give you your space. When you feel like she is getting to be annoying at the time just tell her "I need my space"
