I have a apple macbook....i bought mines new.....I would not reccomend buying a used mac unless it is from apple itself.....You can actually go onto their website and checkout their refurbish macbook...i am pretty sure they even come with a one year guarantee where you get tech support and all that good stuff.... if you purchase it from them......which you cannot get anywhere else .....The referbrished ones are also a good price....hope i did help.....

I have both Macs and PCs (running Windows XP), and the Macs are far superior in my opinion. That being said, I wouldn't worry about buying a used Apple computer, as they seldom give trouble...even the older models. I wouldn't go back further than a G4 model, however, because I'd want to run their newest operating system OS X.4 on it. Right now, I'm using a Dual Processor 1.2Ghz, 1GB Ram, G4 that I've had four years and really like. I bought it used from www.Sweetwater.com/ four years ago. You can also find good used Macs on eBay all the time. If you worry about risking the amount of money involved, use www.escrow.com or PayPal (where they guarantee the seller up to $2000) to handle your payment for an eBay purchase. Hope this helps.

Do NOT buy used laptops. Refurbished is ok and you can find refurbished laptops on the apple website. I would recommend going with either company really. I prefer apple but have also had a few Dells and have been very pleased with them. Oh and the Sony my dad has is pretty decent too... given it is a cheap one. I personally adore my Macbook Pro and would only buy a PC for gaming.

It is safe, but make sure you know a lot about the computer before you buy it. For instance, compare it to the new computers on Apple's website to make sure it isn't to old. smalldog.com, Apple's mini refurb store, and macmall.com are good places to go to. Smalldog even give you a small bag of plastic dogs for buying something.

only if the store or website is going to give a descent
assurance with it with parts and labour with it.buying
second hand may seem like a good ,but can turn
sour after acouple of months.having said that my friend bought a second hand pc and has had it for nearly 2
years with nothing going wrong.i suppose it's just your
luck.so the very best luck to you in your quest to find a
good one.

they are pretty good but make sure it doesnt have any "worm" ( i am not trying to be funny) worms are viruses that can harm/slow the performance of your apple. They are very good. good luck and i hope you find a good apple. lol
