If I broke up with him, I would give the ring back. If he broke up with me, I get to keep it! And take it to the jeweler and have a lovely pendant made out of it!

Yes, it just wouldn't be right to keep it. Also, he can return it if he wanted to. If I was the person that got the ring back or not, I would tell them that they could keep it, but, only if they wanted to.

Yes I would because it has no value and it means nothing to me. Most women keep the ring but I think that is a selfish thing to do...

The rule is.... If you break it off he gets the ring. If he breaks it off...you get to keep it. At least that is what I have always understood.
