"We all know".....isn't that a huge assumption?
So, the premise is, everyone understands that men have three basic (what does that mean?) needs, and they are food, sex, peace/quiet.
Actually, man's basic needs, like women's basic needs, are those that are necessary for survival and perpetuation of the species. Food, shelter, sex. Peace and quiet does not factor in for either gender.
Why would you think women's basic needs would be different from men's? We're all human beings, and we all have the basic drive to survive, no matter what. There is no gender difference here.

Actually, everyone's basic needs are food, shelter, sex, and companionship, although we can, if necessary, do without the sex. Peace and quiet are nice, but as a social species, we need other people.

I think that is the reason so many marriages fail, that people just assume the other gender has predifined needs. Just look at todays marriages. Many men marry expecting that she will be happy having a family instead of realising that she would really prefer a career and beeing left alone. So you have many unhappy women who take hubby to the cleaners and men who have no idea what they did wrong.
If you are going to marry a woman, make sure she REALLY wants marriage.

I think the question assumes men "need" sex - when they likely want love/respect, and mistakenly believe that sex is the ideal way to achieve it (due to the fact these feelings often do come in some portion after sex).

I would say all people require: Sustenance, Love/Intimacy and Security/Respect.

Most of what we think we want are just natural or twisted versions of these.

Food, home, love, sex, possessions, etc.

I believe all women have the same basic needs in one way or another. They have a need for comfort/companionship, food/nutrition, to bear children/ nurture someone or something.

For me, quiet time is #1 on my list, then comes entertainment (video games, movies, music, etc...), & instead of sex I would think maybe just intimate companionship.
