I like both of them but i don't know which one would be a better laptop for me since im starting school. any help?

Go with the toshiba. It has a faster processor, the ability to add more ram... In terms of specs, there almost identical. However, with sony, you pay a lot for the name, meaning you may not be getting as much with it vs. the toshiba.

The Toshiba Satellite is much better. It has a better processor and can support more memory. Go with the Toshiba if you HAVE to buy from Walmart. I suggest looking at www.newegg.com but thats just my 2 cents. Parts made for computers for wal-mart are all specially made FOR those computers and hard to replace. Good Luck HTH.

The Toshiba, better CPU and larger cache. Decent price and two good brands.

They are pretty close, but the Toshiba has a faster processor, and slightly faster RAM, and the RAM can be expanded farther, so go with it.

They are virtually identical as far as technical specifications.
I would pick the Toshiba. They are rock solid reliable. If you go around to repair places, they will tell you that they get less of those then any other.
