i recently bought a bookm containing maths problems some of which i find difficult is it ok to attempt it then look at the answer then come back to it the next day

the best way is to do them yourself
but if you really cant answer them you can look at solution
then you can use those ideas, some may be new methods, for other problems.
Sometimes you can try one method, go halfway or complete it, and discover that the answer has a different method or different notations.

No as this would make you addicted to seeing answers and then working out the difficult problem.Rather try for it if don't get it ask someone to help.

i think you could look at the answer in the back (if you really, REALLY can't get it) and then try to work out how to get that answer. this way, you'll actually learn how problems like that should be done. if you can figure out how to work out the answer, don't go back to it. just move on.
