That is funny, I have done it. And for a matter of fact, when I used to train my students, if they left thier computers unlocked I used to do it to them.
Hit Ctrl + Alt + the up arrow, and you should be good to go!

If you are using XP, try this....
Put cursor on any part of the desktop, then right click.
Click on "graphics properties"
A blue dialog box will appear. Click on "Display Settings", then you will see the rotation controls on the right.
Click the circle at the 12 o'clock noon position, and you should be OK.
Of course, if your screen is upside down, you will have to turn your head to make sure the correct circle is filled .

I would try restarting your PC. most likely a drivers conflict between the game and you display adapter. Not sure how to fix it, search on the maple story website

ctrl+alt+ one of the arrow buttons if your video card driver supports it or go to videocard options and look for rotate my screen somewhere in one of the tabs

well i don't know why that happen but i know how to fix click on your desktop go to graphics option then rotation then Click "Normal".
