Rickey Henderson beat the record as an Athletic. I still have the newspaper clipping in my office, of him holding up the base.

They stopped the game for him to give a speach and he said "I am the greatest of all time!"

Depends on your frame of reference.
Career in MLB it's Rickey Henderson, 1406

Single season in MLB it's Henderson with 130, but in the NL before they joined to become major league baseball, a guy named Hugh Nicol swiped 138 bases in 1887.

This year though, it's Jose Reyes with 54

I see three ways to answer this one, and two of them have already been addressed. 1) career record. 2) single season record. 3) single game record.
I have got no clue about the single game record, but that would be a fun question to have answered.
