The simple answer is No you can’t legally drive your car,
If you do you can be prosecuted and it does also invalidate your road tax and insurance as it’s classed as un-roadworthy car.
You can drive to any MOT test station that you have a pre-booked appointment for on Tuesday, you do not have to take the most direct route however if you are caught travelling in the opposite direction you may have a hard time proving that’s where you are heading.
If you drive your car watch out for vans parked on the side of the road, which look like speed camera vans but are actually checking your registration number against the insurance tax and MOT databases. Also most police traffic cars now have similar cameras mounted in them that do the same thing.
You did have a month grace period to get your MOT done as in the UK you can have your car MOT carried out up to 1 calendar month early and dated to your current MOT expiry date + 1 year giving you up to 13 months MOT on your car, may be something to think of for next year.
Hope this helps kind regards

No there is no grace period. However you are allowed to drive your car to an MOT garage to a pre-booked appointment.

don't drive it around.. only to the MOT station , hopefully thats near by. if you did get stopped and you have your documents on you and you've been on holiday etc.
my mot has run out, its with a mechanic BUT i got it mot'd 12 days before, when it was tested it failed.BUT a part we couldn't get till now, after the MOT has run out =(
(and the fact my mechanic is an idiot)
as for the person who said it would get crushed.. it won't on the street as its legally taxed.. and your not driving

THE FATHER IS WRONG it does not invalidate your tax and insurance but having said that you cannot drive it like others have said only to the MOT station and it must be prebooked and also most important you must take the direct route to the test station from your home or where the vehicle is kept

NO
the tax and insurance and mot are all conected. if one is out of date then all three are invalid. you can drive your car to the mot test centre but you will need the booking recipt to prove you where on your way there. if you use your car without no mot you can be prosicuted for all three as thay become invalid. but the police are very much asleep these days to car offencis. a neighbour of mine had his car towed for no road tax. within two houres his car was back. he paid the fine and thay gave him his car back and he still has no tax. how wrong is that.

You can't legally use it between now and then, the only time you can drive it is to the MOT test station and it must be booked in.
