I installed a trial version of norton on my computer and ran a cleanup scan. when the cleanup finished i thought it had deleted all my files so i downloaded my backup files now i have duplicate files of everything. help!!!!

Your best bet is to do a system restore. If you are using Windows XP, go to Start Menu > Help and Support > Undo changes to your computer with System Restore > Restore computer to previous state > choose a date before installing Norton > restore

Simply click on the files / delete or an easier way do system restore

go to save as under file click the double folder and press delete
then in recycle box click it then delete it
