My doctor keeps saying lose weight. I am eating smarter, exercising, drinking only water, walking every week... but it's just stuck there.

has your doctor checked you for diabetes? Once I was diagnosed and started taking Metformin, the weight just started to drop off. In fact there are some doctors that are now using Metformin as a weight loss aid...you might want to discuss this with your doctor.

You may have an underlying condition. Your weight is VERY unhealthy. You need to be honest with yourself about the food choices you are making. If you know in your heart that you are doing everything in your power, and not cheating, then it's time for some blood work. You may have a low thyroid or any number of conditions. In your first week of a strict diet and exercise, at your weight, you can expect to lose 10 pounds. See? I was at 240 and I lost 40 pounds in two and a half months... then it tapered off until now it's about two pounds a week.

Don't give up! You are doing the right thing for your health. Ask your doctor for some help. Join a program like Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers. I know there is a stigma attached to it, but it works. My cousin got really big and shewenton Weight Watchers. Now, five years later, she's got the hottest body ever, wears a size four.... and she still follows the weight watchers program. My point is this: It can't just be a diet or it's not going to work. At all. It has to be a total life change and a permanent commitment you can live with!

You need to walk or have some form of exercise every day. Its the only way to keep burning calories. Another trick my mom had to use was to get on a regular schedule. It teaches your body when it should be up and moving and when you should be resting. Also, JOURNAL!!! write down everything you eat, and how much. Take down your emotions when you eat. Find out if you are eating because you are bored, or sad, or depressed, or happy... take that in when you go see your doctor next, and that might be able to help stimulate new conversation about more weight loss options if you still are unable to loose the lbs.

Three hundred pounds didn't appear magically over night. It won't go away magically either. Stick with what you are doing, continue making smart food choices, increase your walking and exercise to several times a week. Be patient, you will start to see a difference.

It may be time to consider more drastic measures....Gastric Bypass is always an option, if you're willing to go radical.

Good luck.
