Lots to do here. Pike Place Market is great but don't look at street level only; lots of places on floors below. The waterfront has lots of attractions - tour boats and restaurants - but for free, go to the Olde Curiosity Shop. Strange and amazing stuff there. The Seattle Art Museum (SAM) has great displays and outdoor artwork in a park north of the waterfront. Ballard locks are a mini Panama Canal and now the fish are running so you can see them from underwater windows. Nearby is the Nordic Museum which explains how they beat Columbus to N. America. Seattle Center with the Space Needle has lots of activities. Boeing Field has an airplane museum that is worth the trip. Ferry rides take you to Bremerton for a Navy boat tour or Bainbridge Island for a laid back small town experience. Cheap - less than $7 round trip. Seattle is a jumping off place for a fast trip to Victoria, BC, so bring your passport of birth certificate. Hiking is a short drive away in the Cascades. A day trip to the south is Mt. St. Helens which has some wonderful exhibits on how the volcano changed everything for miles around. Lots of saltwater parks with beaches to collect shells or dig clams. And, of course, seafood all over the place.

Don't worry about the weather; it may rain occasionally but folks here don't carry umbrellas much since the rain is more misty that hard driving.

Lots to do. Get a AAA book and start planning before you get here.

Have fun

Pacific science center has quite a few things. The Imax dinosaur movie is pretty cool. I have never been to the music experience there. They just remodeled the aquarium on pier 57. You can walk to the crab pot after the aquarium and get a big pile of food if you want to freak someone out. We took my sister in law a few weeks ago and she went into shock.
Woodland zoo.
There is a huge outdoor concert at Cheney stadium this weekend. Pain in the Grass.
and a Renaissance faire for the next two weekends.
Young Frankenstein is opening soon too.

I guess it depends what you like to do.

Well of course there's the space needle but we found a great outdoor market area that sells everything you can think of and has the best seafood Ive ever had. Its called Pike Street Market and is right on the water, if you've ever seen the guys that throw and catch the fresh fish off the boats this is where they do it. There are artist hanging out on the street doing portraits of people and musicians playing a variety of music all over. Have a great time!!

If you're a sports fan, Mariners and Seahawks games are a must. Alki Beach, Mt. Rainier and Snoqualmie Falls are nice outdoor places to visit, and the Space Needle is a must-see landmark.
