Because it's comfortable, to wear just little tank top and skirt... no sleeves pulling on your shoulders, and baggy shorts hanging around your legs/knees. Even some guys are now discovering the convenience of sleeveless shirts. Plus, it's much more pleasant for the eye (especially man's eye :-) ) to watch the female tennis players, than maybe female basketball players.

I don't think you know what you're talking about because i watch tennis games and most women wear those tennis dresses or shirts with skirts.and the only part of their body that they expose the most is their legs.

What are you talking about. Women tennis players where skirts because that is the traditional outfit for women to play in tennis. It helps them move and they since they are special skirts for tennis they can store tennis balls in them. Otherwise whatever they where is what you would basically wear for working out. Men wear just the same except for shorts.

Because they expose, many go out to watch them. If they
start to wear long pants and long sleeves, see how many fans
will watch them.
Since Anna K came to Tennis, it has turned the fans in a different direction. She hardly played any tennis and I cannot
remember how many career titles she has in tennis, but she
made a career with her modelling and exposing herself.
Thank god, Sharapova can play some tennis....

The Fashionistas entered pro tennis... and it all started with Gorgeous Gussie Moran, who was the first woman pro tennis player to appear at major matches in short flirty white skirts with ruffly bits on the panties underneath. Men used to play in mid-thigh length white shorts with tucked-in white shirts, but now every guy wants to look like a gangbanger. Whatever's out on the street is what's on the court.

The outfits they wear is probably comfortable for them and helps them play better with less cloths, I don't know. Atleast they don't lift their shirts up all the time like the guys do. Taking off their shirt in between points.

The person who said it is for comfort is right. That is why they wear the clothes they do.
A better question would be "why do men wear those stupid shorts that hang down to thier knees?" They look like they would just get in the way.

very interesting question.
i would agree that they do expose themselves. it is traditional for them to wear skirts, but not as short as you see shara and hantuchova wearing.
to be honest i can only think of one reason why they do this. and that is for appeal. lets face it, they dont have any talent, so y not show some skin. covering up is not gonna get you any endorsement deals.
