Salinization is having a high salt level in top soil which causes a lot of problems because germination cannot occur in soil with a high salt content. (this is because salt dries up the water necessary for a seed to germinate). There is becoming more and more land that is unsutable for cultivation because of salinization.

To treat with salt. But if you meant salination, see below.

Soil salination is the accumulation of free salts to such an extent that it leads to degradation of soils and vegetation.

Salination is a natural process that results from:

high levels of salt in the soils.
landscape features that allow salts to become mobile (movement of water table)
climatic trends that favor accumulation

c) The answer a) can come from a farming method that sprays concentrated sulphuric acid on the field, then irrigating heavily. The salts in the soil are dissolved by the temporary very low pH. The irrigation is then used to flush the excess salts below the the rooting depth of the crops. The suphuric acid breaks down over a few weeks to Sulphates.

Salinization just means adding salt to something. "Desalinization" is the process of removing salt from something, for example, sea water, so that it becomes drinkable (potable).
