God springs forth from the primitive limbic system of your brain, the last remnants of your reptillion past. The area where our raw emotions reside, including the irrational belief systems.

The 'religious' experience is triggered by deep depression, starvation, near death, or other highly charged situations. The 'born-again' christian phenomena has a scientific basis....yes, your limbic system. Why has man evolved this mechanism you might ask? Simple...it was a survival mechanism of our cave man ancestors to cope with a hostile and unknown universe.

The cerebral cortex is a more recent development. Here is where our rational and logical thought processes take place. It is here that the atheists have found their basis in reality.

In reality, there is no sentient, omnipresent, omnipotent supernatural being or force....therefore all the inequities and misery of the world will always persist, no matter how hard some try to get that limbic brain of ours to work...sorry

God is whatever, or whomever your energy serves. In essence, you can be your own god, money can be a god, a country, a car, etc. You may also serve a faith, religion, they all have their own gods that peolpe serve.

Now....God is the "I am". He simply exists, he is. The creator of the universe and everything within it. And He wants us to turn from these other gods and serve Him. The proof I have is life....I cannot believe that everything was created randomly. The beauty and complexity of the universe is too much for science to adequately explain. I know, not intellectually, but deeper, that God exists. I also believe that one da, science will fail to explain things, and then we will have our living proof.

God is the multi-dimensional reality in which we are embedded that is responsive to consciousness. A quantum energy field perhaps. People personify a deity because they sometimes perceive a mirroring effect in their experience - answered prayers, reality shifts, synchronicity of events etc. Religions evolve from individual insights into this intersection of psychology/physics.

God is the creator.
The proof is common sense indicates there has to be One originator; as do enquiries into the origins of one's self and environment.
Just ask yourself where you are.
On Earth, a Planet, in the Milky-way, one of the INFINITE Galaxies in emptiness ( aka space )
If you study any extinct or contemporary belief you will always see reference to a supreme creator beyond the lesser deities who act as agents of the One.

God is a vague notion created to answer the questions which (at the time) people can not answer.
If we (as human) can't understand how something works, or how it came to exist, then we think there must be something more powerful out there to make it work, or so humans tell themselves.
That is how it started. Mankind couldn't explain lightning, earthquakes, different colors, etc, etc. As we progressed of course we discovered atmospheric conditions, plates, color spectrums, etc, etc...
God is a fallacy used by people who can't, or don't want to, understand the simplest of answers.

You mean who is God?

God is your Creator. He created us for a purpose, therefore He is an intelligence and not a force.

I cannot prove that God exists, but I can show that we have good reason to seek Him even not knowing whether He exists or not.

Without God, life is ultimately pointless, meaningless and without purpose. Without God, mindless evolution has provided mechanisms in us that give us shots of feel-good drugs for thinking certain thoughts such as thoughts of love, compassion, justice, mercy and courage. They are all based upon happy drugs with no real meaning behind them. All the great and noble things we do in life are just slavery to this mindless evolution supplied mechanism. The final outcome of an atheistic world view examined honestly is nihilism and the outcome of nihilism is suicide or insanity.

God is an idea created by man to explain the nature of his existence, natural phenomena, & death. Another function of the God concept is as an authority/foundation which allows moral codes to develop & societies to flourish through thier infancy, and to maintain order throughout the rest of thier lifespan. So God, the human concept, exists. As for the reality of what God is, possibly the universe/creation itself & the mind of God being collective consiousness of all intelligent life in the universe trying to make sense of what it/he/she is? Nothing original here I know, but it's what makes sense to me.
