True Greatness means lasting achievement against seemingly impossible odds. Historians disagree whether the achievement has to be to the good of others. Eg Napoleon was undoubtedly a great man, but he left no legacy from his conquests and looting but the ruin of his country, a dubious and illiberal legal code, and the seeds of the worship of militarism.
By contrast, I would suggest the Duke of Wellington - triumphant yet always a servant of Duty.
I hope that I give no offence in saying that ML King was pushing at an open door in a basically civilised country.

Grog of the Cave Bear Clan was dubbed "greatest man of all time" for his creation of the concept of gods, goddesses, angels and devils in the Year 60,563 BC to keep members of his clan in line. The world has never been the same since....even today 80% of the earth's population believe in some sort of higher being or organized religion.

Very difficult question to ask. I would say it is a toss up between

Ghandi and Mother Theresa for both of their humanitarian work through out their lives and all the lives they have savedSe.

In a world of war and chaos, they brought some reason and meaning to peoples lives again when it was so desperately needed.

that is who i would choose and why.

The Apostle Paul. Spread Christianity to the Gentiles, without him Christianity would still just be a sect of Judaism.
