Being resourceful implies being able to perform instead of being clumsy or unable to move fast. Some people have no fear but can´t become agile. Some are agile but not very smart, some are both agile and smart, they get to practise some. Ninjas believe in melding up on nature and grasping other life forms so they become guilty of acting criminally. They can actually disguise themselves and kill perhaps a hundred before they become detected or killed. If a ninja plans forward he gets killed, for some will perceive his guilt or aura moving out of invisibility, becoming obvious his whereabouts and reasons. A good ninja uses scarcely his blades and stars, relying on his sword alone and causing only a faint sound for the akashik record to recognise alone his brain patterns, he must respect the wood and be righteous always, very disciplined too. When he practises he must inflict a great deal of pain upon his body, being hot and prepared he will not harm it for longer than five minutes each time, and will see that he is respecting his presence upon the planet.

Sorta kinda not really but in a way.
, Most of those were tricks to promote fear in their opponents. There are reports of ninja placing stones or logs in stretigic spots along a river or moat just below the water level. Someone who know where they were could then run across them while anyone following would likely miss them and sink. It would be possible to jump or swing from trees though not like in the movies. Dissappearing with a cloud of leaves requires having a trapdoor/blind & something to stir up the leaves once you ducked into it. The falling leaves would then help to cover your tracks and the edges of the blind.
As you can imagine centuries ago these tricks would have been considered magical & given rise to tall tales.

As for the naruto type stuff, Thats a cartoon!
