I’ve ran into a ton of woman who love to lie about this.

I ask a simple question like " What country you from ???

and they tell you " Oh I am a mutt I am 1/2 Chinese, 1/3 Italian, 1/9 Dutch, 1/30 Swiss, 1/90th Norwegian, 1/5 German , 1/8 French, 1/3 Portuguese, 1/2 Chiwawa and part German Shepard……and ummmm….Oh yeh and part native American ( they usually say Cherokee )……

WHy Cherokee? Is that the only tribe you can think of? Just Pathetic !!

Why do they feel like they have to lie and make stuff up when they have no idea where their ancestors are from?

If you don't know.......DON'T make stuff up! It's silly! You are not any cooler by making stuff up!

Just to let you know it is VERY ANNOYING!! You must have low self esteem....to make stuff up to try to make your self sound exotic.

DONT DO IT!!

I am from Central America ( El Salvador) I am light skinned with light hair and hazel eyes. When people ask me where I am from. I DONT say

"oh I am part Mayan Indian and Spanish “

It's not only women, and they aren't always lying. The Cherokee was a very large tribe, so I'm sure that they aren't lying about it. I've also heard Sioux, Apache, and Navajo.

Personally, I'm half Iranian, part Russian Jew (my ancestor was a Russian-Jewish Rabbi way back when, but I'm not Jewish religiously), part British, part Scottish, and probably some other things, too.

However, if you want to get down to the basics, I'm 1/2 American and 1/2 Iranian, but I'm a purely native-born American.

Why do you care? I can say WTF I want to say thank you very much. Who are you to tell someone that they are lying? You need to understand that most Americans that have been here for more than 5 generations are 1/6 French, 1/3 Spanish, etc... (unlike immigrants like you who have yet to contribute to the American experience but rather just leech off it).
My great grandmother WAS Blackfoot Native American and French and that's just my mom's side. My dad was born on an Indian reservation. So I can't say I'm part Indian according to you? Piss off!
My African and European ancestors have been here since the pilgrims and my Native American ancestors of course before that. We are a melting pot and proud. If you don't like the answer then don't ask the question.

EDIT: Kuanaco. I'm not racist. I just don't like foreigners living in my country, taking advantage of opportunites that my tax dollars afford, and then bit*hing about it. I don't care if your black white blue purple or striped. If you don't like America and Americans then get the hell out! That's not racist that's just being a proud American. Where are you from? I bet that immigrant thing really pissed you off cause you are one too. LEECHING MY TAX DOLLARS!!! Yeah I said it! And I'll keep on saying it.

I do that too. Then again, my family was very promiscuous, so thats why I don't have one liniage. The reason I say it... I feel that it is a way of conversation, just one of those things you do without even realizing it. So what though. At the very least, you learn more about a person that way.

I don't understand why the question "what country are you from?" would get answers like that anyway. I'm from America...my ancestory is mixed...but that's not the answer to your question.

And yeah...why do you think it's only women...or are you only asking women?

This answer is for the person who just answered last,

djanimaequeen

This is what she has on her profile:
About me: I'm a Cali girl living in my Cali world. California is the best place on the planet and I feel privledged to have been born and raised here. I love snowboarding, travelling, video games, hangin with my buddies, and most importantly cussing out racist trolls on yahoo.

SHe just said " (unlike immigrants like you who have yet to contribute to the American experience but rather just leech off it). "

This is so contradictory when she herself is a RACIST TROLL...

PWNED !!!!!

I can only speak for myself. If one asks me what country I'm from I'd state The United States. If they ask me about my heritage then I'd tell them. Good luck. 2D
