Okay, so I put a hot pan directly on my counter top. I know. I know. It was stupid for me to do that, but the pan was really hot. Now I want to know is how to get rid of that burn. My mom is coming home in 7 hours, and she'll get really angry with me if she sees it. Gah!!! What do I do???

It has to be refinished. You will have to accept the consequences. If it makes you feel any better, I have had to take the consequences too. We all make mistakes throughout our lives.

Depends on the depth of the burn and the material of the countertop. If it's Formica, your Mom will be yelling for a long time because it will need to be cut out and replaced. If it's wood, a fine steel wool may remove the mark.

Is it Formica? If so, sorry! But if it is Corian... you can "buff" it out with a Scotch-Brite pad and it will be good as new.
