this is a very tricky question.
I think that love is being willing to give a lot of yourself, if not all, to another person; it is when you feel comfortable to be truly honest, because you know that you won't be judged. It is when you know that no matter what you'll forgive that person, even if this sounds a bit masoquist. It is when you know you can take on the world because that someone is by your side. When you not only share your dreams and goals with that person, but that you also want them to be by your side when you acomplish them.
Why do we compare to our fist love? Because our first love was the one that made us realize what love was, that made us truly feel.
I also think we shouldn't be so harsh on comparing, because every other person that comes into our lives will bring something different into it. Every love will be different, yet similar in essence.

first love comparison?
we like to compare our first love to all our other relationships because that was when we were at the peak of hormone rage, horniness and most importantly...no f-u-cking clue what a motherf-u-cker another human being can be.
i am pretty confident in saying that 99.9999% of you are not with your 'first love'. why not? if your 'first love' was that intense and great...why arent you with them? why are you married to him/her/it? how come you dont have a house with a white picket fence with 2.7 kids?
why not? because you or him/her/it f-u-cked you over. they cheated on you, thought you were a loser once they got to know you, found someone else that was better looking, more popular etc etc etc.
to cut this short...you will always have a failed relationship if you consistently compare your present love or possible future love with your 'first love'. why the f-u-ck? because your 'first love' was no where near based on reality. you're too f-u-cken immature to know that you can't come home to a perfectly picked up house with the kids quietly reading a book and have dinner perfectly simmering on the stove just at the peak of perfection the millisecond you walk through it. i have so many friends that are looking for that. they must have smoked way too much dope or something...
again...guaranteed failure if you think that you can capture those 'first love' flutters! forget that...pick up a skank and do her 'til she can't walk right 9and you as well).

My favorite definition of love is described in the Bible. It is "Agape" love.
That is the art of holding someones welfare above your own. It is also known as selfless love.
What would be called my first love is a life long bond I feel toward someone. I have a strong feeling that I missed what was a gift for me. Last I heard many years ago they are in real bad shape.

Love is of a complex nature.Do not compare cos it will definitely differ from the rest.However, first love actually have a lot of memories which we might not forget.Whatever it is love who you are with cos he/she willl be the one showing u the meaning of love.

Love is this girl I met once long, long ago in a world white with snow. Our brains produce a limited amount of that particular chemical. And once the neural pathways that release it have been burned into our brain it is hard to make new paths.
