Apparently no, the CFR is.
[snip]
Once the CFR member or CFR collaborator U.S. president is elected, he has appoints well over one hundred CFR members to various key government positions. This has been going on since its founding in 1921. The Federal Reserve, Supreme Court, and State Department (foreign relations) are dominated by Council on Foreign Relations members. Top Defense Department and CIA positions are held by CFR members.
*********************************************************
Ron Paul is the only Presidential candidate "NOT" influenced or supported by donations from the CFR.

Funny thing is if an employer {Tax payer} employs someone, doesn't the employer/tax payer have the right to Govern the employee{s}////political representitive or appointee?
Please think about this!

No sadly its not the people anymore, its big money and it comes from all over the world. Call it CFR or New world order or any name you like, but it the same kind of Aristocrats our ancestors fled and fought to get away from, just like the Boston Tea Party, that was the first fight against free trade and the East India trading compay. The only diference now is its different characters.

Well it's funny...from all I read about American history, right from the days of writing the constitution on forward there is aura and innuendo of shady business there...right from links to the fore-fathers and free masons etc. etc. etc...based on the foundation of "fighting for freedom" right from day one, it's been about fighting to conquer and/or preserve an ideology.
So I would say there has always been an "agenda" there, whatever the truth may be. But why of all the countries in the world are conspiracy theories linked so strongly to you guys...they claim that British Royalty, the Bushes, even Hitler...all were connected...wouldn't it TRULY be justice if in the end, there was a God, and we all got to know the truth about everything that ever was?
But to answer your question the only people that run things are the people you LET run things...if you want a say in matters, you have to stand up and make your voice heard where it counts...if one person can get government to add a traffic light, make a road safer, add a half hour to a school's gym cirriculum, put in a social program, get a law changed, etc. etc. etc...just think what we could ALL accomplish collectively if everyone made their concerns heard.
It doesn't start at the top....but at the bottom, and with each one of us.

i am not familiar with the cfr
obviously the people do not govern
and the government does not go by the constitution
but if you really think the conspirators behind the people in charge make them do what they say you have a fantastic view of power. a year or two ago. bush was on t.v. fielding questions and cheney was under attack because he shot his right hand man in the face or something. the journalist said something about cheney and bush lashed back "next president"
people think cheney tells bush what to do and cheney is in charge of bush
nice thought
bush is the sort of person who would let himself be run by cheney.
when lincoln was elected he appointed stanton secretary of war and mclellan chief of army
people said dont do it they are saying you are incompetetent
stanton and lincoln got into a meeting. stanton disagreed with lincoln and told him what to do and lincoln said no we are doing what i said
and that was the end of it
the way the system is now, the elected executive is in charge. that is why the current administration is so perilous

It's not only the USA. All socialist democracies are suffering the same problem. It's no longer the people ruling, it's a new form of aristocracy.
The socialist policies create a new social class economically lower than the peasants but higher in government support. Once that class is bigger than the working peasants, the continuity of the system is guaranteed. This class is going to vote for anyone willing to give them social welfare, gets more political active because that's the way to get what they want and bigger in number.
And if you're a working peasant, they've just turn you into a slave with a higher quality of life than them, but you have to keep working for it. They don't.
They don't rule, the government will support them with welfare and get their support in return, allowing the government to pursue their own agenda using your money.
The solution is to get the power out of the government. Go back to basics, government as administrator of the res publica, no politics, no regulations, free market.

No, and the CFR is having problems too. It is time to rid ourselves of foreign interventions to get on a better foot. Eliminate the foreign elements within the country and our abroad-interest as well, whereas at that point we relieve ourselves of a burden that is weighing us down incredibly.
Ron Paul is not the answer, and he does not have a chance, we will continue to spin our wheels with these notions. Get serious.

"We the People," as a whole, were never meant to govern the USA. We created a system of government, that has our authority and is made up of members of "the People," but we don't govern.
Well, you should consider the fact that CFR members are among the most experience public servants in the country. Why would you not want the best, most qualified people to be chosen for positions of leadership within the government?
I can guarantee that even if he were to win the presidency, Ron Paul would choose people who are CFR members for some positions in the government. He would be choosing less qualified people if he didn't.

No we are not... we need to take action against the rich and make this country a democracy..
After years of dissapointment over the Bush Administration we need a change... I'm behind Ron 100%
I am IMPRESSED... Republican or Democrat, I have almost never seen a candidate who is so honest and relativistic in his/her thinking, and who doesn't try to please the public but says the things exactly as s/he believes them. If you believe in lower taxes, are anti-war, agianst the partriot act, and believe in honnest government who looks out for our well being not thier own self interests this is the man for you!

Citizens in the USA govern by voting and participating in the political process. If you are a citizen and you do these things then the answer to your question is yes, We The People govern the USA.
If you are not a citizen and you don't do these things then you get what you get!
