I think she has really turned out to be a beautiful woman with class. She has not gone the path of those other young hollywood starlets. In fact she has gone the exact opposite direction. She is responsible, married and making classiy music now. Of course she is an amazing singer and I hope we will be hearing her for a long time to come without the drama of Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, or definitely not Britttany Spears and Lindsey Lohan.

Does that sound weird from a metal head?

My point is, good music is good music. You dont have to strictly listen to only one genre of music. If you like it, then screw what everyone else thinks.

There's nothing wrong with recognizing someone with the talent that Christina Aguilera has. I too am mostly a rock/metal guy but also enjoy listening to artists who possess a real talent. The best thing I've ever heard from Christina is when she appeared in a jazz/blues tribute show in a female-cut tuxedo and just belted out this jazz tune. Her voice is absolutely amazing. I never cared for Britney or Jessica Simpson, but Christina is a real talent.

funny, the OLD BET used to embrace us all dark and light. They used to show singers and rappers and educational programs. I actually like the gospel on sundays. It's only one day out of the week, so it's fine by me. I like Robin Thicke, Christina Auguilera and Teena Marie. Justin Timberlake put on one hell of a concert when he was on tour in Madison Square Garden. But anyway Ayita if you want to all the specturums of black music and black culture you have to watch TVone, BET J, or VH1 soul. ADD-as for the Awards, they were decent, alot better than they have been in the past. My hightlights would be Neyo, Keyshia Cole and Monica, Maxwell, Janet Jackson, and Drake.

Well while I hate Christina Aguilera good for you if you like her. You shouldn't classify yourself by the music you listen to. If you like metal, good. If you like Christina Aguilera, good. If anyone has a problem with that, give them the finger and keep going on with your day. While I mainly just listen to rock I usually listen to popular bands and also bands no ones ever heard of ranging from different genres, so people usually can't classify me.

Aguilera finally stopped trying to be like Britney and just did her thing. That's what has paid off for her.

And nothing wrong with having eclectic taste in music. My tastes go from Rage Against the Machine to Miles Davis to Public Enemy to Mozart to John Lee Hooker and back to the Doors.

No, that's not weird. It actually shows how adult you are in terms of the music you listen to. You have the ability to listen to other genres of music and appreciate them for what they are and what they represent. I agree with you that Christina has turned into a beautiful, classy lady and she has one heck of a powerful voice. You recognize talent when you see it, and that is a very grown-up stand to take. Pat yourself on the back, don't hide the fact that you like her.

It's not weird at all, I feel the same way, I just love how she and Britney were in this rivalry from the beginning, and then as time went by Britney became a trainwreck, shaved her hair, married a cokehead, had two kids and got pictured naked in a tub with a guy she just met, and Christina's just living the dream, I love it!

Not in the least! It sounds sophisticated and educated, and I for one am glad to find a metalhead that's taken the time to consider other genres' good points and enjoy the work of another artist.
Anybody that happens to like music, musicians or no, should look at other genres and find what they like or dislike about them. It's good to see you've done just that.

what are you talking about? open your eyes man! she is no different from any other pop starlet. she parades around like she is all that. her music sucks and she isnt all that smart. the only difference between her and the other pop bimbos is that she has added an element of 40's and 50's music. she had one good song, i think it was 'stronger' she was rock chick in it and showed the strength of women. stick with the heavy stuff dont go mainstreem!

There's nothing wrong with liking Christina Aguilera, but I wouldn't say you're a metal head.
