Good question. My guess folks are bored with the humdrum of everyday life. They seek spice of life thus they turn to the news, which depends on advertisement dollars, for a jolt of a wow!

Some famous writer once wrote about people leading lives of quiet desperation. Exposure to TV and other media outlets gives us a connection (albeit shallow) to other members of our species. Man is a social animal, but people are increasingly gathered up in large apartment blocks and the like which make one feel totally alone. The sprawl of single-family dwellings in suburbia are even more dismal in terms of preventing our gathering together to share common experiences and the like. So, we sit in front of the friendly little tube and some even consider the presenters and subjects of the tawdry little items on the news and entertainment scene to be real acquaintances and friends. Rather sad actually...

that's their job ...their job is to spit out lies, so we can nod in agreement ...but we know how much they fabricate their so-called facts ...indeed only sheep believe in the media, whether it's liberal or conservative ...it's all the same.
