It's a natural slump, caused by low blood sugar between lunch and dinner and because that's the time of day that's usually the warmest and everything is winding down. If you can't catch a quick nap, crunch something (ice, mints, chips) and get some exercise (stretching at your desk) and you'll pull through.
One of the nice things about retirement is that you can catnap--I do.
