of course. it is a natural occurance. because their energy is negative they can do nothing but bring negative energy upon others and positive people will be viewed by them and naive so they feel the need to help them face reality so to speak. and it's not that they will actually feel better about your misery it's just that they can't help but bring others down because there is no good left in them.

Here is how it works for most of the population of America and just about any country in the world. Children grow up imitating their parents behaviour.
If a child sees her parents make and repeat mistakes concerning marriage, then more than likely the child will do the same. If the parents make decisions which they express with thoughtful consideration and empathy ..then the child will do the same.
As a child of a bad marriage grows up to be an adult, that child will more than likely visit the same mistakes on themselves and then on their children. So, in a very logical way, yes, misery loves company.
On the other side of that, the child of a great marriage in which the parents make good decisions together which they know will affect the entire family either for the better or adversely and those parents choose to do what is best for all concerned... then that child has the better chance of making a successful marriage later on in life.

Depends on the person. Some people hate to see others in pain even when they are suffereing themselves. These people are the ones who are happier in misery cause they dont have guilt
There are those who dont care but if given the oppurtunity will drag you down.
Then there are those who will drag anyone they can down with them. They are ususally the most guilty and they also gain more misery.

As I recall it was, "loves company." There are times we need,
empathy, consoling. If misery is sitting on the "pity Pot" as you
describe, yes it seems Misery loves company, But they don't
"Need" it. They will drag you down with them if you allow them to. You can't show them the light at the end of the tunnel
unless they choose to seek it.

Misery loves company but only if the company is as miserable as they are. I wouldn't be good company for miserable people. I can't put up with all the whining and complaining they do.

I dont know....I think when im that way, the only reason i would want "company" is because i feel the need to "kill" something!! (LOL) I think the type they are talking about is the "blues" type, not the other type(like me).....feeling all alone, rejected, stuff like that. In that case, company would be much appreciated,(even if i said it wasn't) "no! go away! leave me alone! (you really don't mean it) LOL.....Hey, when you need a friend, you need a friend, even if it dont feel like you do......besides its "safer that way!" ...lol....

Some people do...and it is too bad. Because holding on to bitterness and anger will keep you stuck and from moving on to healthy relationships.
