See if your scanner has a Scan To Text or OCR scanning mode. If it does, don't expect the conversion to text to be perfect. You'll have to clean it up.

You have to have some pretty advanced software to scan a form and have it actually become a fillable form. Most likely, you scanned the form into an image. So you can edit the form with an image editor such as paint or Photoshop, but you'll just have to manually place the text onto the form in the right spots. I believe Acrobat (the full application, not just the reader) can do what you want.

Cannot!!! Coz the form you scanned became an image (like form.jpg or form.tif) and not a word or any text document. Thats how scannning works. The other way is it sanned only the text and save it in word or text format leaving the graphics or table unknown, but the original format of the form or template was changed.
Better xerox your form and use your precious hand...!!!

If you saved it as a pic you could open it with something like ms paint and put a text box in the places you need to fill in data, and then just type the data in there, but it might not be as pretty as if you can scan it in as a word document.
It would be helpful if you included the file extension so we know how you saved the file.

When you scan something you are actually taking a picture of it, and therefor it can't be altered. What you need is to install and register the OCR software that came along with your scanner. That software will allow you to scan text so that it is editable. But you should know that OCR only deals with text and can not handle graphics such as lines, boxes, etc.

you need to scan & save it as a Word document to access it; otherwise it's technically just an image of the document.

You can't fill out a JPG or Photo. You have to write on it with a pen.
