I think it's because so many people believe that success equates to being indepedent from your family, both financially and emotionally. It's something we're taught, to leave the house and stand on our own two feet and it's when we do that, that we're independent and successful. I personally think family is very important, but it's our culture and not necessarily right or wrong, just something we've in general have been taught as growing up.

Successful ppl are become busy with all new.
In most of the cases,
More over, they look big to the family, and the expectations of the family becomes more, and so the family feels as if neglected.

The real successful ppl won't cut the connections.

Unfortunately, it seems to be a whole mindset associated with success. It's not just family, it's friends and entire social circles that get dumped like yesterday's garbage. Sadly, many people just completely forget their roots when they are no longer attached to them...

It happens the most in materialistic societies
because
they were ignored by their parents (due to material race) in their childhood when they were in need of attention of their parents. This cuts them emotionally from their parents. That's why family institution is disturbed in capitalistic societies.
(if it is exactly what you wanted to ask)
