Just ask your supervisor. Walk into his office and ask how the salary review works. Ask if you can expect a raise. This is their policy and the company should be able to explain it.

As a supervisor, I wouldn't be offended if one of my employees asked something like this so long as it was asked in a polite manner. If you go in demanding a raise, you are liable to not get one.

If you don't get a raise and you like working for the company, ask why you didn't get the raise. Was it because of performance or because finances are tight for your employer? If it is because of performance, ask what you need to do to improve your performance. If it is because the employer is not financially in a position to give you a raise, work harder than ever to help the company earn more money and to make yourself indispensable to the company. Even when finances are tight, companies tend to find money to keep employees who are worth keeping.

You shouldn't ask for a raise. After 6 1/2 months has passed, if they don't consult with you, then you need to ask when you can expect to hear about your salary REVIEW.

A promise of a review is not a promise of a raise. Usually, if the company has mentioned a review, they expect your performance to merit a raise in that time frame. So I would be surprised if they just do nothing, but you never know with some companies.

If they keep putting off the review, then it's time for you to start looking around for another job. That's not the kind of company you want to stake your future on.

More than likely the review will come about the time they said it would.

Basically you need to talk to your manager and ask him if you will be reviewing your probation peroid. State you want to make sure you are performing as required, and what more you can do to improve. There is no harm in asking if you get an increase in salary as stated when hired after you get a good review.

Since they put in your letter that it would be reviewed, I'd wait a month or so after the 6 months expires, then if you don't get a raise, ask your boss what you'd need to do to get a salary increase and when you might be eligible for it.

A review, of course, doesn't mean you'd definitely get a raise, so you might or might not see one at 6 months even if they do a review.

Leave it up to them to increase your salary. If they take you off your probabtion period, they obviously like you and feel you are doing an adequate job. I would not expect a large increase, six months is too little time for most employers to increase your salary a lot. One year usally involves a formal sit down review where you can state your case for why you should recieve a large raise or be promoted.

The company as long as is a respectable company will prefer you to ask. Decent companies want staff who have a brain and can use their own innitiative.

All you do after your probationary period is up is go talk to your manager and ask him how he feels you have perfomed, tell him how you feel you have perfomed and salary should come up in that conversation. Don't just go in full of fire saying am I getting a wage increase, but bring it into the convo slowly.

If you are doing a good job and your company is please with your performance, I would say that you will get a raise once your 6 mo. probationary period is over - as that is what is stated in your contract letter. However, if you don't get a raise, there is probably a reason. You will probably be getting a performance review soon and this matter will probably be addressed then. Good luck!
