In truth, I must say neither because whichever one I choose will lead me to sadness because of the knowledge they bring. I don't care how open minded a person is; when they hear something they don't like, they'll be mad. We forget that "the truth hurts."

Knowing that everything you hear is a lie is the same as knowing the truth.

It seem that the more a wise man learns, the more he realizes that he knows far too little and that makes for a sad wise man. The wise often envy the ignorant because "ignorance is bliss." Of course, I don't know anyone who would knowingly choose ignorance in order to be happy. But neither would the wise choose either truth or lies because to choose that kind of pain is nothing less than masochistic.

Truth!!! No matter what the situation was I would want to hear the truth because the world is full of lies. Truth brings closure, while lies temporally resolve an issue like a band-aid. Furthermore, if lied to.....you will eventually discover the truth and finding out the truth after a lie would make me more angry then just hearing the truth from the start.

I can honestly say that i prefer to hear the truth. I've been in a situation in my relationship lately that has made me see how important it is to say the truth. I know that the truth can hurt, but if you know the truth then you can deal with things, which makes you stronger.

As good as it may sound to live in a lie, would you really want your life to be based on lies??

There never is a real reason or time to lie because even tho it may sound easier than the truth in the long run people benefit more from the harsh reality than from a dreamed up fantasy world. However saying something that you think is "true" but really can be offensive doesn't need to be said at all---it would be considered an opinion (not the truth)

I would prefer to hear the truth than a lie, the truth might hurt but to me its showing that someone really cares about you, than telling someone something not true.

I rather hear the truth than a lie, the truth might hurt, but at least your not wondering if the person is being truthful or feeding you a line of ****.

"The truth will set you free." I fully believe in this. Whether or not we find the truth encouraging or depressing, I think knowing but hating the truth is better than believing and loving a lie. It allows you to improve yourself as a person and make better decisions because of it.

I can only quote Carolyn Jones to Elvis Presley in one of his earlier movies, "tell me that you love me; even if it's a lie".

If the truth would hurt and the lie would make me feel good, then I would choose the lie, because feeling good for a moment, no matter how brief, is better than feeling bad all the time.

TRUTH as lies show deceit, conceit and a lack of trust and mutual understanding.
It is better to be hurt once by a lie (if it is going to cause pain) rather than be pained through out as the sacred bond of trust and faith would break, whenever the truth would resurface.
And, I believe truth always resurfaces one day or the other.

The truth in a serious issue but if you get a compliment and its a lie I wouldn't want to know its a lie. I would believe them.
