Sorry to hear of your loss!
A lot of people like to wear colour to a wake these days, as black is a very depressing colour. Even though it is a sad day some poeople would rather think of the happier times, thus wearing something a bit more colourfull.

Sorry for you Loss

Darling

Forget the 'Rest'. wear what you feel comfortable in and more importantly, if this Outfit is what you normally would be wearing out and about with your Friend..Go for it..you know the Person and if He/ She approved of your style of dressing, that is what He/She would want you to wear. Why change to suit 'Old Fashioned' ideals, it was once considered so wrong to wear 'Black' at a Wedding, Brides and Bridesmaid are now turning to BLACK, Black is the new White.
As Sad as this occassion will be, remember that Person, is now an Angel and at peace and would want you celebrating the good things you enjoyed, leave your 'Grief' inside for the day, and Shine. Please do not dress to please others..this is your day as well.

You can absolutely wear anything you want to wear. It's not what is on the outside of a person that matters, it's what is inside.
You are grieving and everyone else there is too. If anyone has the audacity to notice and comment on what you wear, shame on them. They should and will be glad that you came to support them.
Anyone who is there will be very glad you came, not care what you wore. Your dress will be fine.
Go in whichever will be most comfortable for you.
I am so sorry about your friend.

I would not wear the dress you describe. This is a sad occasion.. You need to dress accordingly. The black skirt with a plain blouse and black shoes will be fine. My condolences on the loss of your friend.

Normally, I would say, wear what ever gets you though the day, but since your dress is a multicolored. I would apt for the black skirt. Just my opinion, you can wear whatever you want.

Wear something black, dear. If the person was that good a friend surely you don't want to go dressed as Crusty the Clown. Go buy a new outfit you can always wear it to the clubs after.

A black skirt. You DO-NOT want to wear a dress to a wake. With the black skirt wear sneakers and a T-shirt thats not to ''fancy'' Or you can just waer jeans with a shirt. Hope that helped!

Im so sorry for your loss. I hope you're ok.

I think your dress sounds like a lovely idea. You should only really wear black to the funeral. Many people wear colour as Wakes are about remembering someones life not death. Most people only wear black because its after the funeral and it is a very depressing colour to wear after someones death.

Colour will bring much more happyness to this wake and you still have a bit of black on it and as long as its not OTT it will be perfect. Im sure you friend would have wanted you to have a good time remembering her life and not wear depressing clothes to her last party. x

xxx If you're worried still wear a simple black dress to the funeral and your dress to the wake. Its not even traditional to wear black anymore.
