Shouldn't a 7 mth old be getting more sleep than an 18 mth old??

Yes, but an 18 month will not usually take as many naps as a 7 month old, so they will probably sleep longer at night.

Yes the 7 month old should but all children are different -- so what the 18month old sleeps is norm for them and the same for the 7 month old -- my daughter usually sleeps 12 hrs at night and then 2 1/2 hour name during the day which is 14 1/2 hours when she "should" only be sleeping 10 hours at night with a 2 hr nap -- but this is whats normal for her!

It depends, but every child is different, so you shouldn't compare your child to other children. Some develop faster or slower then others. Just give it time.
