Cut water?
Hmmm, yup, freeze it and then cut it.
If your a southerner, to "cut" something, like
cut the light, is a term, turn off the light.
Never made sense to me since I am a Yankee!
Or better yet, "put up"
Instead of put away.
Where are you putting it up to?

To cut (or cut off) the water, locate your main supply line (usually near the meter or the well). There should be a shut off valve there to shut off the supply to the whole house. There should also be (but not always) shut off valves before every faucet and appliance to shut off the water at that location instead for the whole house. There is also a shut off valve at the street if you have a municipal water supply.

I do like the frozen water (Ice) answer, though. PS If you don't see one, call the plumber and have one installed. Usually not the case, but in older homes sometimes plumbing can be a nightmare.

Freeze it and use a hacksaw. Usually the term "cut water" means to shut off the supply valve.
