There are different vitamins you can try. I got mine from here ->http://www.promiseprenatal.com/

They are based on the stage of your pregnancy so you are getting the vitamins you need for the baby's development and not extra stuff you don't need yet that might be making you sick.

Reflux, aka heartburn, can cause coughing. A lot of us experience a bit of heartburn during pregnancy, especially with the prenatal vitamins. Make sure you're taking your vitamine with food in your stomach or with plenty of water to help dilute the stomach contents. You can take a Tums, or whatever your OB allows, along with your vitamin to ease the stomachs response.

The cough won't affect the baby, but baby will certainly be healthier for mom taking her vitamins. If the suggestions you recieve here don't work, do talk to your doctor. The coughing will be more aggrivating as your pregnancy progresses. More pressure pushing your stomach up and your bladder down. . unpleasant, not dangerous, side effect of pregnancy. :)

You mean the act of swallowing the vitamin makes you gag and cough a lot? That won't bother the baby.....I had a horrible sinus infection and coughed up a storm during my last pregnancy.....the baby is used to the movement. If you are having trouble swallowing the pill, try using chewable vitamins for a while. Good luck!

I've heard of prenatal vitamins causing nausea, but not coughing. I'd talk to the doctor about it. It is best to take the vitamins with food to help prevent nausea, but I don't know if that would help the coughing. I don't think the coughing will affect the baby though.

Try a teaspoon of honey in water for a week , it should help with your cough . Talk to your doctor and ask her for a different multivitamin prescription . Also try taking your tablet at different time each day and make a note of the changes ,see which time suits you the best.

I dont think a cough will hurt the baby since they are well prtected in your uterus. I have never heard of prenatals causing a cough -- you mean you gag and cough when you take it because its so big?

You can talk to your doctor about a different prenatal if you having problems with yours.

talk with ur doctor, they can give you something else. My friend was unable to take multivitamins during her pregnancy.
Your fine with the cough. Consult your doctor to get something to get rid of the cough.

My prenatal vitamins made me horribly sick. I droped down to a simple Womans One-A-Day and took it at night with a little bit of food. (Check with your physician before changing.)

I found that if I took it during the day I would be nauseated and burp it. I took it at night and didn't have any problems.

You certainly could give it a try.

Don't take it on an empty stomach. Try taking it with orange juice but the kind WITHOUT calcium. Vitamin C helps in iron absorption and calcium works against it.
