Yes, my brother in law. when he became an Oncologist he became a total *** to his family. He didn't even bother to show up at his own fathers funeral! When his mom died we put his name in the newspaper first to shame him into going and it worked. I have never met a more selfish person in my life. Nothing is ever "ENOUGH" for him. His wives his cars his homes...On and on... Sad...

Oh i have an uncle who is like this...once he got a great job and made a whole lot of money..he turned sort of Scrooge-like...and im not sure if it is because there are a few "bad apples" in our family that always want to borrow money..but he lives all alone in this beautiful 4 bedroom house..and doesnt spend his money on ANYTHING! (and i mean he doesnt even buy x-mas gifts!)...i dont know if greed has filled his head or what...but he definitely is a SCROOGE..and it really made his mom feel bad (my grandma) before she died..because he wouldnt even come over very often to see her!

I honestly think that success in this day and age, sucks up so much time and energy. That they are on a bit of a treadmill and don't have the time they use to.

Yeah, I have. I moved to ATL in 2000, before I moved, I sent $$ ahead and my daughter got me an apt, util's turned on, etc. We got here on a Sunday, moved in, got settled. On Thursday, she came to me crying, she was being evicted (with my 2 grandchildren). So I gave up my bedroom, moved to the couch for a year; she got back on her feet - and guess what!! She hasn't spoken to me for 2 years, I haven't seen my gr-children in almost 4. And yeah it hurts. But you know what - I don't ill-wish, because I firmly believe that what goes around comes around. It's not for me to give back - it'll just come.

yep my aunt did that...she was 17 when she met her second husband which was a dr...they got married when she was like 22 and nobody in the family heard out of her for yrs!!!
