IMO, it wouldn't fricken matter and it wouldn't solve anything. It would be more fuel for both sides to use against each other.

Nothing would change anytime soon. The church and many Christians would still think that we're freaks and that we chose this, since they would think that the science was flawed or in our favor or something, and they would still use that damn cliché about Adam and Eve.
Politically, I believe that we would eventually get more rights, but the government would also have to take into consideration the thoughts and opinions of its citizens on that matter, y'know? If 90% of the country still wanted to lynch us right and left, then there would be no way in hell we would get any rights, and vice versa.
*Eventually*, things would work out for the better, I believe, but not overnight.
Remember black people? Everyone and their brother knew that blacks were BORN black. They didn't choose it, etc. They were (and are) still discriminated against, had no rights up until a few decades ago, and were immensely despised by the majority of Americans.
Same thing with gays. It's sad, really.

We DID prove that homosexuality is biological. It is considered a genetic fact by the vast majority of experts in the field. Do you have equal rights yet? I'm afraid not.
It is like global warming. 3500 experts and scientists all over the world say it is real and that man is a primary cause for it. The only people that disagree are either NOT experts, or are funded by oil companies. That is a fact. But people will believe what they want to believe.
That said, if you keep educating people and proving yourself, it will win a few people over. Over time, things CAN get better. You never know, but it takes a lot of time. People's feelings won't change over night, especially so long as there are conservatives out there willing to pay millions of dollars to "prove" you wrong.

It has already been shown that homosexuality is biological. Those who dislike gay people have slightly changed their words and now say that, although being gay isn't a choice, it is still a choice to act on your attraction.
It has helped the way gay people are treated somewhat, since homosexuality is no longer considered a disease and that you do not face imprisonment for having sex with someone of the same gender, but gay people still do not have the same rights as others.
The Church thinks whatever it wants to think, since the thinking of the church relies on faith and not facts.

Equal rights would have to be granted or it would be a violation of our human rights. There is also sufficient evidence that it is genetic, just not a 100% proof because it is a very complicated subject area. They're still finding how to understand simple parts of DNA, and sexual orientation is not easy. I believe soon they'll find it, they nearly have :)
The Church would probably quieten down, or would be silenced by law in Europe (as it has been done allready in the UK under the "inciting racial and homophobic hatred" law). If you remember, not so long ago the Church used to support sexist, racist attitudes and segregation because it says so in the Bible. But when people become more tolerent and understanding, they reject the stupid parts of the Bible. Like would a woman honestly agree if she was reminded that in the Bible women are forbidden from talking in Church? Of course not :)
It would deffinatley improve :D

If it is in fact biological, there would most likely be no cure to it. Homosecuality is something that someone can deny but can not erase or change. I don't think the church would accept it, because from what they are conditioned to believe, God wouldn't accept it.

If it could be clearly demonstrated that this is not of our choosing, that it's an aspect of being not unlike being short or tall, black or white, I think it would definitely change things. The reason most straight people give for their prejudice is that they think we chose it. Like wearing a shirt - I think I'll be gay today.
The Church would probably be slower to recognize it, but the Church is cautious in its changes.
Good questions.

The next thing that would happen is that the homophobes would want some kind of way to test for it before birth. They would then use the argument of a need to remove defective genes from the human population and call to abort all gay babies.

some idiots will still drum their homophobic views into their children.
it's just like people of other races. we all know that we are a part of the human race but some idiots still talk about them like they are aliens.
it's gonna be all talk, victimization and gossip, then the hate will breed and spread.
oh yeah and some scientist will try to prove that he is right that homosexual is wrong and he will have his followers.
and then the homophobic 'health experts' will say the 'gay lifestyle' is unhealthy, i could go on...

I would hope that when this issue is finally put to rest and people realize that being gay is not a choice, our government and society as a whole will be forced to recognize that we deserve the same rights and protections as any other segment of society.

Answerer 1 is wrong. There is no hatred in this world. Gay people need serious help right now. If it was biological then life would be easier as we can give them more rights just like Black people.
