i'll start with wta 'cause it's easier:
1. justin hennin- best tennis by far
2.jelena jankovic-constant treat to top players
3.ana ivanovic-improving from game to game
4.amelie mauresmo or svetlana kuznetsova- both going down but you never now
5.anna chakvetadze-i'll just give her credit
atp, hard, but here i go:
1.novak djokovic-he showed good quality tennis all year
2.andy roddick-ups and downs all year but still lots of good new things in his game
3.fernando gonzalez-consistent game
4.nikolay davydenko-more concentration and he could do much more
5.tommy haas-didn't play too much but he still shows good quality tennis, strong shots.

Without Federer and Nadal it goes like this.
1. Andy Roddick-He would've won three Wimbledons, Two US Opens, and one Aussie Open if not for Federer.
2. Novak Djokovic- This guys a true talent and could've won the French if there was no Federer or Nadal.
3. Andy Murray- He beat Federer, Nadal, and Roddick on his first year on tour he's truly talented.
4. Radek Stepanek- I had to mix it up and since he came back he's only lost to Roddick.
5. James Blake- He's a little inconsistant, but he could beat anyone on tour(except Federer)
Women
1. Justine Henin- I thought the Williams sisters would crush her, but she seems to have thier number.
2. Serena Williams- She's the more domanint of the two sister.
3. Nicole Vaidisova- C'mon she's only 18 and she's had great results in every Grand Slam.
4. Venus Williams- She's proven herself on grass, but not anywhere else.
5. Maria Sharapova- She's too overrated, I like her game, but she seems to get worse the closer it gets to grand slam finals.
Notable Mention: Ana Ivanovic
